Biography

Optometrist Derek Anderson graduated from The University of Tennessee in 2020 and received his doctorate from Southern College of Optometry in 2024. Dr. Anderson completed external rotations at Karns Vision Center in Knoxville, The James H. Quillen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Johnson City, and The Eye Center in Memphis.

Dr. Anderson grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, and quickly became a Vol For Life. He continued to cheer on the Volunteers by playing saxophone for the Pride of the Southland Marching Band. Dr. Anderson spends his free time volunteering for Remote Area Medical, listening to music, playing trivia, and watching sports with friends.

Dr. Anderson practices primary eye care for adults and pediatric patients, comprehensive eye exams for glasses and contact lenses, pre- and post-operative care for cataract and refractive surgeries and ocular disease management including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, injuries and infections.
