Biography
Optometric Physician Janet Parker was born and raised in Sanford, Florida. She graduated from the University of South Florida in 1980 and received her Doctorate from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis in 1985. Dr. Parker and her husband, Optician John Parker, established Parker Vision in Maryville where they were in private practice for twenty-nine years. They both joined Volunteer Eyecare in January 2018 and continue to practice part-time.
Dr. Parker practices adult and pediatric primary eye care, including routine examinations for glasses and contact lenses; surgical pre- and post-operative care for cataract and refractive surgery; and ocular disease management including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, injuries and infections.
Dr. Parker is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians. Dr. Parker lives in Maryville and is an active member of East Maryville Baptist Church where she is also part of the Audio Visual Team.
